TEBSA supports the cultural change existing around the world with respect to the environment. TEBSA'S environmental management is encouraged by respect towards the environment, the community and the country.

The latter is achieved through intensive training programs on environmental aspects related to company's activities, at the workers' and neighboring community's level.

TEBSA'S strict monitoring program enables the company to guarantee a low environmental impact on air and water, as part of the power generation process. Constant monitoring and assessments provide us with timely warning on the trend of the different factors that can influence the environment so as to put in place corrective, compensatory and protective actions with respect to potential adverse effects.

The monitoring conducted throughout the year indicates that TEBSA has always shown levels below the maximum levels set by the Colombian legislation.

TEBSA counts on an environmental license granted by the Ministry of the Environment, Housing and Territorial Development. Likewise, it maintains the water concession, emissions, air quality and liquid dumping permits, granted by the Corporación Regional Autónoma del AtlánticoC.R.A. – These two authorities are responsible for carrying out the supervision and follow-up of TEBSA'S environmental obligations.

As provided in law 99 of 193, TEBSA must transfer 4% of gross energy sales derived from own generation,  allocated into 2.5% to the CRA (local environmental agency)  and 1.5% to the Municipality of Soledad, according to the the fee set forth by CREG for block sales".
